I wanna see your Peacock

We’re back! It’s been a while since our last post, but we come from a suburb of Boston and we felt that with the events of last week our readers had more than enough on their minds.

Though all of the outfits this year were fabulous, our model Kiera’s stunning peacock ensemble deserves its own post. All the skirt layers are hand made, and the train boasts a total of 180 real peacock feathers. The hairpiece is a specialty comb created just for the outfit by a local artist, and the corset is complemented by leather restraints in matching colors. This peacock may be in leather and chains, but that doesn’t mean she has been tamed!

This is the last post in our series of still shots and costume features from this year’s Fetish Fashion Show in Rhode Island. But we have saved the best for last – next week we will recap with a runway video recorded at the fashion show, so you can see ALL of the outfits as if you were there!

Kiera’s makeup is by Meghan Boutilier, with hair by Cecily Wyndham. As always, we would like to express our appreciation for the excellent runway shots and backstage stills taken by Darkwell Studios and Burnsides Photography and Imaging.

Fabulous Beasts

Our human models aren’t the only ones who were looking great in Rhode Island this year. Watch out as a fantasy bestiary invades the runway at the Fetish Fashion Show!

Satyr, Unicorn, and Peacock frolic with our models, but Yoshiko and the others keep the show from turning into a zoo. She’s ready to master that frisky Satyr and show him who the boss is.

Once again, we are grateful for the excellent photographers helping our work to shine: Runway shots provided by Darkwell Studios, and backstage stills provided by Burnsides Photography and Imaging.

Seeing Red

Last week, we promised you more pictures from the Fetish Fashion Show, and we intend to deliver! This is the first post in a series featuring the variety of spectacular looks we created for the show.

Red was a prominent theme in this year’s Fetish Fashion Show runway collection, from Cat Cash and Maneki Neko covered in roses, to the stunning Sij in a full-length satin bondage gown. Fearghus completes the set in a cheeky pair of red mesh pants with a vinyl fig leaf for modesty.

2013 Fetish Fashion Show in Rhode Island

In February 2013, we traveled to the Fetish Fashion Show held at the New England Leather Alliance’s Winter Fetish Fair Fleamarket. This is one of our favorite events, as it provides the perfect occasion for the Cloak and the Dragon to collaborate in a wide variety of styles and materials.

Here is a sampling of our 2013 offerings: fetish fashion, from the simple to the elaborate; legendary beasts in chains, a bride all tied up in her veil, a lady in red, and plenty of lace, vinyl, satin, feathers, and fur. You can even see the Cloak and the Dragon themselves walking the runway. Some of our fashion themes will be receiving their own posts, so be sure to keep visiting us!

A big thank you to Darkwell Studios and Burnsides Photography and Imaging for capturing our models and our collection in fantastic runway shots and backstage stills.

Fetish Flea 2013

About the Design Team.

About the Cloak part of the Team:

Convinced me that there was no way I was going to support myself doing art, I got a couple of degrees and then a day job. But I never stopped playing with fabric and leather and sewing whenever I got a chance. I did re-enactment costuming, renaissance faires and costuming for science fictions conventions, where I met folks who introduced me to the FFF in 2000. At the FFF, I found patrons who appreciated both the visual and tactile and appreciated themselves even more when they wore my creations. It was a life-changing epiphany when a client turned to the mirror and said “Wow, I love it so much I could just f**k myself!” So I quit the day job and began to create full-time. My art still isn’t supporting me, but it’s giving me a reason to go forth with joy and purpose. The creations that I offer to the world are dreams and fantasies, and I am still exploring ways to draw more deeply. I continue to create for those of you who inspire me, and who love my work enough to grace your bodies with it.

About the Dragon:

Several decades ago I was frustrated at the poor quality and lack of diversity of leather products so I started to design and make my own items. Friends asked me to make items for them and soon I was an artist in demand, designer/engineer. I was featured in Boston during the first Earth Day, as well as the first Fetish Flea. While my main materials are leather, vegan friendly PVC, and chain, I also enjoy creative recycling of materials, giving unwanted items a new life. I am always finding new inspirations, designing new creations and enjoy the challenges my customers come up for me. My creations now span a wide range of clientele from the fetish community, to the punk, gothic, sci-fi, and period reenactment crowds.
